James Durbin grew up in Boise, Idaho and has devoted pretty much all of his young life to developing himself as a leader and instructor. He joined the Young Marines program at the age of 10 and over the course of 8 years went from the lowest ranks of the program to leading the program’s entire west coast division as Young Marine of the year.
Upon completion of high school James joined the Marine Corps, and immediately volunteered for Reconnaissance training. After a year of the Marine Corps’ most grueling selection and training James had received 2 meritorious promotions and was the top graduate in 3 of his schools. He spent 4 years with 1st Recon Battalion and the Force Recon Company, training for special missions and deployed to various locations in 2013. That is when James developed a passion for coaching and started a small gym for his teammates.
After serving his obligated time with the Marine Corps James wanted to take the next step to learn more about fitness, movement, and mobility. He was privileged enough to be given the opportunity to train under and be mentored by world renown human performance coach and New York Times best selling author Brian MacKenzie. Working with Brian, James took his understanding of movement and training to another level.
James always strives to be the very best at everything he does, and loves sharing that passion with his athletes. Today, James resides in Huntington Beach with his beautiful wife Tiana, daughter Penelope (still in the womb) and French Bulldog Moses.
