ok… ok… ok…
What do you say to yourself when you have dug yourself deep into a tough workout? Apparently, I just say ok… again and again. It’s kind of an “I’m ok”, “ok, I can do this”, and “ok, I hear you telling me to go/breathe/whatever” all rolled into one. Saying “ok” has transfered over to the rest of my life. I find myself just saying it sometimes, over and over. It helps me. My point: if you have a word or words that help you, use ‘em! If you don’t, maybe you should try some out. Words can be powerful, even if they are just “ok”.
Since it’s been like a week, I think I will first briefly recap the NLI comp I did this past weekend. I wasn’t so sure I was ready for it, but decided I would just go have fun doing what I do. It was actually pretty fun and I ended up getting 3rd place in Div. 1 (out of only 6… which I’m not supposed to tell you, but I can’t help it. Still, 3rd is 3rd!). CrossFit Costa Mesa was well represented and I really enjoyed watching everyone compete. One of my favorite moments was probably watching Dakota kick ass at the 800m run. He was well ahead of everyone else… so awesome. It was a good day.
My workouts this week have felt pretty tough. My IWT was especially hard yesterday. I’m not sure if its because of me or because it was just hard. It didn’t look so bad on paper, but I struggled and had a hard time recovering enough during the rest periods… not like me. I made it though! Today I did some strength work and then “Cindy” with the 4pm class. It was fun, and Elliott pushed me well, but I let him get a round ahead of me
Push-ups are still one of my weaknesses…
Lastly, the Regional workouts were posted today. They look fun, but difficult and I’m a little nervous I may not even make it to day 2, but I’m going to stay positive and work on my hang cleans and super heavy one-arm snatches just in case I do make it to day 2. You can see the workouts HERE. The goal for me is and always will be the same… work hard, have fun, and do what I do. Always.
Photo comments: For whatever reason, I like this photo of me… I look very perplexed! Second one is my last two workouts… easier to post a picture than write them. Good luck reading again.
