For one, it was a beautiful day in Costa Mesa. I got in a solid 40 minutes of reading and resting and breathing in the sunshine this morning. My workout today went well. I changed it around a bit, and I’m hoping this doesn’t mess me up for tomorrow, but I think I’ll be ok. Since I was supposed to find a 1RM snatch on Saturday, but did the group workout instead, I decided to start off with this. My previous best was 99# during the Open, and today I snatched 102#! This was after many attempts… probably more than I should have taken, but I really wanted to get that sucker!
Back Squat 1×8 @75% (158#), 1×5 @80% (168#), 1×5 @85% (178#), 1×3 @90% (189#), 1×3 @95% (200#)
I got all of them, but on the last set needed a spot on the last 2 reps… otherwise wouldn’t have gotten them.
Was supposed to be “Diane” today, but I’ve seriously done this workout 4 times in the last month and a half. No more! So, I did the noon group class. It had handstand push-ups in it… so pretty much the same thing, right?

I love this song, ‘About Today’ by The National. I first heard it when watching Warrior… an excellent movie if you’ve not yet seen it.
One more thing… just FYI. If you haven’t heard of Greenleaf Restaurant in Eastside Costa Mesa yet, I highly recommend it. I have been several times now and have ordered a different salad each time, and they have all been delicious. There are lots of paleo options, the atmosphere is nice but casual and its fairly reasonable.
