Getting Started

The staff at CrossFit Costa Mesa is dedicated to making the introduction process for our strength and conditioning program as smooth as possible. Each new client is taken through a two-week program, totaling 5 training days (based on competency) that are aimed at familiarizing all potential clients with the movements, vernacular and culture of CrossFit.

The CrossFit program is infinitely scalable and the intensity is up to you. This is not bootcamp. Our goal in onboarding is to educate you first, then challenge you to push past physical boundaries. Anyone can do CrossFit, but it’s not for everyone. You, the client, have to be ready to change your perceptions of exercise and be ready to drastically improve your fitness all while becoming a member of an amazing community. You’ve been warned: CrossFit may be addictive; You may make many friends by joining; You may start to look like the men and women from the movie 300; You may love the way you feel.

There are two onboarding options for you to take advantage of. Our primary onboarding option is a group program that occurs every two weeks (Week 1: M/W/Th, and Week 2: M/W) and usually consists of 6-8 people. If you’ve gotta get started now and can’t wait for the next onboarding session to come around, you can onboard with one of our trainers privately, though there is some additional cost for the trainer’s time.

To get the ball rolling with the onboarding process you must first sign-up online. The first two classes are inexpensive, we want to give you the opportunity to meet the trainers, check out the gym (we call it a box) and experience a CrossFit Costa Mesa workout (we call it a WOD) before you commit to anything too long term. The first two sessions of onboarding will only cost you $25.00, if you decide to join this amount will be credited towards your first month of membership. If you decide after 2 days of training that it’s just not for you, no hard feelings, we won’t charge you any more (note: you must let us know that you’re not coming back). One more thing! If you would like to try out a free workout at our gym, we hold a fun trial class every Saturday morning at 10am. You may register for this through the same link above. Feel free to invite friends and family too!

Private Onboarding
The sessions in private onboarding are set ahead of time. The schedule and pace is up to you.

CrossFit can be intimidating and appear out of reach to many people. This is an absolute myth and the onboarding process should dispel that right away. Regardless of your current fitness level, we will get you setup for success starting with your first day of onboarding. By the time you graduate you should be ready to join the group class and mix it up with our veteran clients. You’ll know the moves. You’ll know the lingo. You’ll be ready to go.
