We want to welcome you as you prepare for your first step into this new world of health and fitness. CrossFit Costa Mesa for many of us, is more than gym. It’s a community and a way of life. It’s transformation and fitness redefined and we are excited you are thinking about joining us on this journey.
Your first step is to sign up for our dynamic On Boarding Program. The details of the program are laid out below. It’s an 8 session, in depth program designed to introduce you to all the technical aspects of CrossFit. As you can see below, CrossFit is a very vast encompassing system utilizing the best movements mankind has developed. But don’t be dismayed by what some may see as overly complex movements or the potential high intensity workouts. CrossFit is scalable to all levels of fitness. It just takes your commitment to stepping out of the mediocre and into a new definition of fitness for your life.

The CFCM On Boarding Program is a cornerstone of our gym membership. These 8 class sessions are packed full of detailed explanations and foundational knowledge of the CrossFit methodologies and basic movements. During these sessions, each participant will dive deep into the principles and 9 major lifts incorporated into the basics of CrossFit .
We find that in the past CrossFit can be intimidating and appear beyond your current capacity. We want to dispel this myth and share with you how everyone regardless of previous fitness or current fitness can participate in a fun and exciting way to workout. We use this on-boarding process to ramp up into the group classes and we use this time to teach the basics in a safe and non-stressful environment. This gives a person who is new to exercise, or this way of doing exercise at least, a way to get comfortable with the way we do things before being thrown into the deep end of the pool.
These classes will cover such topics as:
- The Nine Basics Lifts of CrossFit
- Squat – Front Squat – Overhead Squat
- Dead lift – Sumo Dead lift High pull – Clean
- Press – Push Press – Push Jerk
- Foundational Core Competencies of CrossFit
- Cardiovascular / Respiratory Endurance – Stamina – Strength – Flexibility – Power – Speed – Coordination – Agility – Balance – Accuracy

- What are the benefits or detriments to this type of training?
- Is CrossFit for everyone?
- What makes CrossFit Scalable for every single person?
The content will be divided into eight sessions and mandatory for all new members and even those experienced athletes coming back into CrossFit or coming form another gym.
Bring comfortable clothes you can move and workout in as you will be expected to do some fundamental work and basics from the first session.

Can’t make the normal On Boarding due to scheduling conflicts? No worries, email us anyway and we will get you up to speed through private training sessions with one of our certified CrossFit trainers.
