Steve Dugger
Steve is not just the brawn, but the brains in the gym as well. There is no trainer with a more detailed and thorough understanding of CrossFit’s principles and purposes than Steve. His training background is extensive including the CF Level 1 Certification and the Athletic Development seminar at Gym Jones and the people he works out with get that benefit immediately. Steve was a former collegiate water polo player and held several local and state swimming records . He is an athlete that knows what it’s like to experience suffering for the benefit of the growth to follow. He pioneered the “integrated” approach by bringing together the physical in a gym, and the wholeness of the person mentally and spiritually.

Alec Hanson

Alec is the consummate competitor. He hates mediocrity in life and fitness and found CrossFit as an answer. A previous collegiate volleyball player for UC Berkeley, Alec has competed at some of the highest levels of sport performance, (just not the Olympics unless you count being a fan as a sport). Alec has attained his CrossFit Level 1 Certification and always looks forward to the next big push and Personal Record for himself and more importantly, the people who train with him. Alec is a positive encourager and motivator without accepting half-ass work performance. He believes in living life as it should be which includes not only superior work performance in the office and the home, but in the gym.
“The ability to live life to the fullest, to enjoy it in all it has to offer, begins with your own ability to move around in the physical world we find ourselves in. Your ability to dominate the physical world around you fulfills the basic purpose of man, without which the joys and colors of the world become dull and gray.”

Lindsay Schuil
Lindsay Schuil or “Linds” as she’s known in the gym has been working in the fitness industry for a number of years and has always loved being active (mostly running). She started CrossFitting in February of 2009, back when CrossFit Costa Mesa was nothing more than a gathering of like-minded people in a two car garage. Since then, CrossFit has changed her life in more ways than one. Linds is an ACE certified personal trainer and holds a Level 1 CrossFit Certification. Along with her passion for all things CrossFit she also works as the coordinator of a program called Glucofit at the YMCA for people with diabetes. Rob Merto
For Rob, fitness has always been a primary passion. Since he was young he has enjoyed playing sports, working out and generally staying fit. He was very happy to join CrossFit Costa Mesa in January 2009 and since then, he has not returned to the ‘daily routine’ of the gym. Inspired and motivated by his new found obsession (as his wife calls it), Rob decided he wanted to do more than workout, he wanted to learn and share CrossFit with others. Rob received his Level 1 CrossFit Certification in October 2009 and is currently enrolled at NPTI School to get a Personal Training Diploma. He’s also attended the CrossFit Movement and Mobility Cert as well as a Kettle Bell certification through NPTI. His desire to improve his WOD times keeps him pushing and always striving for the best. Although Rob wishes he could spend all day every day at CrossFit Costa Mesa, he works an 8-5 job as Graphic Designer for worldsbestbanners.com.
